I still remember the 29th of June 2025, when I took over as the 64th President of Rotary
Club of Durgapur, one of the oldest Clubs of Rotary International District 3240; in the
presence of former Director General of Police of West Bengal, past and future District
Governors of our Rotary District and a galaxy of other distinguished dignitaries. My journey
of 9 years as a Rotaract member of the youth wing of our Rotary Club, motivated me to do
something so that we could uphold the theme of, ‘Unite for Good’.
♥
I insisted on retention of 100% of our Club members. Unfortunately we lost two senior and
dedicated Rotarians because of health issues. However, we inducted Niladri Paul, a young and dynamic
entrepreneur who belongs to Rotary family, believes in, ‘Service above Self’, the Rotary motto and
upholds it by the help of sponsorship to 12 meritorious children all round the year.

I am specially thankful to Rtn. Dr. Dipanwita Sen, Rtn. Dr. Ashis Chatterjee and Rtn. Sk. Abu Zafar
for their generosity in the treatment of Jaya, a patient of cerebral palsy, who has improved a lot in
the last one year.

I must thank our core team, Rtn. Kalpana Mistri and Rtn. Rajkumar Ganguly for their overall support
and all the dedicated members of our club for standing by me to do various service projects in the
fields of Literacy (Stipend, Fee sponsorship, Bag distribution, Nation Builder Awards); Conservation
of Environment (tree plantation); Health and hygiene (program on Maternal and Child health, Blood
donation, Polio rally, Food distribution, Diabetes mela); Club service; Vocational service & awards
and Community service (Wheel chair distribution and Dental check up camp).
♥
I convey my good wishes to the incoming President and B. O. D for the next tenure and assure
my cooperation in the forthcoming days.

As the outgoing President I thank Almighty God, my family and obviously my Rotary family and friends
for the opportunity I got to serve Rotary Club of Durgapur as the 64th President.
